The Technical Guide to BIMI Implementation: Earning Your Blue Tick

You have seen it in your inbox: that verified brand logo next to the sender's name. It looks professional, and it builds trust. That is BIMI.

But let's be honest: setting it up is usually a nightmare. It requires a strict security posture that most senders struggle with. We wrote this guide to demystify the process.

The Prerequisites: It Starts with DMARC

You cannot have BIMI without DMARC at enforcement (p=quarantine or p=reject). A policy of none won't cut it.

Note: We always recommend using our DMARC monitoring tools to watch your traffic before switching to 'reject', so you don't accidentally block your own legit emails.

The Image: The SVG Headache

This is where we see most people get stuck. You need SVG Tiny Portable/Secure (SVG P/S). You can't just save an SVG from Photoshop.

How We Fixed This: We hated this requirement, so we built an SVG converter directly into your GetMailer domain settings. Upload your high-res logo, and we sanitize it, convert it to the compliant profile, and host it on our CDN. You shouldn't need a degree in vector graphics to send email.

The VMC: The Verified Mark Certificate

For Gmail to display your logo, you need a VMC. It's like an SSL cert for your brand. You'll need to contact a Certificate Authority like DigiCert.

It costs money (around $1k/year), but for our high-volume customers, the open rate lift (often 10%+) pays for it in the first month.

Why We Care

We care about BIMI because we care about Identity. In a world of AI spam, proving you are you is the most valuable signal you can send.
